Looking To Hire Some Web Help

Why not give those in my favorite online community a shot at a little work?

Hello all,
I’m trying LGF first before we go out in social media or public ads looking for some web talent.

Take a look at the above web site. It needs some help, and we are taking quotes to install some replacement pages that were already made in Adobe InDesign.

Then take all the text off the background and put it on islands for clarity, leaving the signature cool pool blur background around the edges out of the way of admittedly text heavy content.

This is not a huge job, but just big enough to consume too much in house staff time, which is dedicated to producing and servicing our regular product line. Precious Metals for jewelry making.

Sure. This is one of the replacement pages and it shows the white "island" concept for making text clear and still keeping the cool pool blue my boss is so enamored of.

Oh yeah, but not entirely. Just looking to lift the text off that so it's easily read.

My recommendation would be to lose the background as well, but since it seems you can't (i.e. boss enamored of it), here's a workaround:

- no "text islands". Use a nice, continuous, white block instead, such that the pool background is only visible at the margins. That would make it far less intrusive. Something along the lines of this, perhaps.

- knock down the opacity of the background so it's not quite so blatant. You could also put a gradient overlay on it so it gradually fades to a solid color (either white or pale blue)

As it is, it gives the site a very unfortunate late-'90s/Geocities look.

Thanks for the suggestions. Much appreciated, as they do help me nudge the boss in the right direction. I think he sees the late '90s look as too modern, LOL.

Now all I need is a person to implement some of it. I could do it but that is time spent doing web work instead of making money as in commissions.
